Coaches profile:

After suffering a major injury I was unable to continue to compete at a high level for Athletics and needed something to keep me fit. I went to the gym but lacked the motivation and the variety to stay focused.

One day a friend kept complaining about how they were so sore from doing a WOD, curiously I asked ‘’what the hell is a WOD?’’ after a few YouTube videos I decided I would try CrossFit. I have never looked back.

My previous sporting background includes a large variety of sports including, basketball, volleyball, rugby union, AFL and swimming competing through the years at a representative level.

Found CrossFit in 2011 and loved it ever since the competitive nature of the sport and the fun you have whilst doing it is something second to none. Everyone should give it a try and see how much fun you can have.

First CrossFit gym I came into was CrossFit Woolloongabba and a lot of great techniques and insights.

I enjoy following the WWC over the following years and have taken into researching a lot of training components and methods adopted by the top weightlifters throughout the world.

The Team at CrossFit 4178 is a great unique bunch of characters whom all come from different backgrounds and have much knowledge about the concepts and methodologies throughout the sport of CrossFit and can assist in many ways.

Richard Lucker Coaches profile:

Richie’s first introduction to CrossFit was in 2011, where he utilised the CrossFit methodology and principles to supplement his Rugby pre-season training. Starting out in the Northern Territory at CrossFit Territory under the watchful eye of 3 time regional athlete Brendan Southwick, Richie quickly developed a passion for the sport of CrossFit.

During this time he gained great insight and understanding into the world of CrossFit and the strategies used to not only train as an elite athlete but coach others new to the sport.

Richie is highly capable mentor with a passion driven toward helping others achieve their goals. His friendly nature and laid back persona makes him an excellent communicator.

From being a part of my own buisness in sports massage while creating a family to re entering the education system 6 months ago, I feel my role as coach at crossfit 4178 very rewarding and hope our athletes can benifit from this in the future.
